Honiton Town Football Club, who launch a new season of South West Peninsula League football tonight (Wednesday) with a visit to much-fancied Elmore, are looking for companies to advertise in their matchday programme.

Each home game at Mountbatten Park sees the Hippos produce an excellent match programme and it really is not that expensive to advertise in it.

Indeed, it works out at around £5 a game. What’s more, non-league football programmes are collected around the country and so perhaps the advertising might also appeal to advertisers also looking at markets further afield?

Why not get in touch with the Honiton Town commercial team to find out more about this and other sponsorship opportunities with the Hippos.

The person to contact is Andrew Symonds, who can be reached through the Honiton Town website or Facebook pages

As for that opening game at Elmore tonight (Wednesday), Town boss Kev Blackwell says: “It could not be a tougher first league outing and I doubt we’ll face much harder games in the entire campaign. They [Elmore] made a flying start last week and will no doubt be looking at continuing that, but for us, it is all about making sure we do what we are good at. We will face a number of tough games over the campaign and the key for us is to not get carried away by single matches. The season is a long haul, but we can go into this opener looking forward to the challenge. We have a good pre-season behind us and I can’t wait for us to get stuck into the real action.”

Tonight’s game at Horsdon Park kicks off at 7.30pm and the Hippos are back in action on Saturday (August 18) when they travel up to North Devon to face Ilfracombe (3pm).

There’s also action tonight for the Town third team, who are busy preparing for another Devon and Exeter League campaign. The thirds, who are sponsored once again by Millstream Taxis, are in action at Faraway United (6.30pm).

In terms of the Devon and Exeter League starts for the Town second and third teams, the second team begin a new Division Two campaign next Tuesday (August 21) with a trip to Crediton United Reserves and the Town third team launch a new Division Eight campaign on Saturday week (August 25) with a visit to Tiverton-based Amory Green Rovers Reserves.
