Honiton Town 6, Halwill 0 Honiton Town chalked up yet another five-plus clean sheet success as their juggernaut-of-a-season continues.

Honiton have now scored a whopping 66 goals in 13 league and cup games this season.

There six against Halwill means they have scored five or more in all but three of their matches this season so far!

What makes this latest clean sheet thumping all the more impressive is then fact that opponents Halwill had themselves scored in every game since an opening day blank afternoon, that back on August 24, 14 games ago!

Tim Genders scored the only goal of the first half and the fact that they had an interval clean sheet to work with was down to a magnificent save by keeper Ben Kayes and a splendid goal line clearance from Matt Brown.

After the break both Brad Groves and Darren Witt netted twice and Lewis Couch put a polished seal on proceedings with the last goal. Dan Broom and jack Knights excelled for Town.

Boss Kev Blackwell said: “We were poor in the first half and the break certainly came at the right time for us. The atmosphere at half-time was one of real disappointment, but that shows the level of progression within the team when the lads are disappointed at leading a contest. It tells me that even with new lads within the ranks they do care about the team and the club and that shows the spirit is exactly as I want it right through our club. The lads put in a polished second half show to comfortably seal victory.”

On Saturday Town travel to Pinhoe before they again go head-to-head with Halwill in a Firewatch Devon Senior Cup tie.
