Honiton Town are in action tonight (Wednesday) when they entertain South West Peninsula League Eastern Division title-chasing St Martins in a league game. The fixture, at Mountbatten Park, Honiton, kicks-off at 6.30pm.
It’s a Wednesday evening double-header at Town’s home ground for also in action are the Hippos’ third team with a Macron League Division Eight meeting with Otterton that also kicks-off at 6.30pm.
These are busy times for the Town senior teams with the second team winning games on successive nights this week, following Monday night’s 4-2 home win over Newtown – which came hot on the heels of a 4-3 success over Thorverton on Saturday – the Hippos beat Kentisbeare 5-2 with goals from Blake Freemantle (2), Luke Barwick, Darren Witt and Luke Phillips.
Town Reserves have little time for rest – they are next in action on Friday (April 20) with a home game against Woodbury.
Following the win over Kentisbeare, the Hippos’ second team are up to fifth in Macron League Division Two, just four points off a top three slot which would bring promotion to the second tier of Macron League football.
