Culm United 0, Honiton Town 5 The rose garden that is Honiton Town Football Club continue to bloom as Kev Blackwell’s all-conquering side made it eleven straight wins with a nap hand success in Mid Devon, writes Steve Birley.

The side’s had met seven days before at Mountbatten Park, but the Uffculme-based outfit were much changed having signed on a couple of new players for the return fixture, writes Steve Birley.

Not that that made any difference to the outcome for Town are clearly currently in the mood to take on all-comers!

The hosts began brightly, but Tim Genders marked his return to the starting eleven with a stunning goal just five minutes in. After easing his way past his marker Genders rifled the ball into the to corner of the net from 20-yards.

Jack Knight doubled the lead and Brad Groves got a delicate touch on a Lewis Couch cross to take Town into a 3-0 half-time lead.

Darren Witt made it four early in the second half with a crisp left foot drive and genders finished what he started with a clinical volley to chalk up his 20th goal of the campaign.

Boss Blackwell said: “It was another super show from all departments of what is currently a very confident looking team. Tim’s (Tim Gender) 20 goals by mid-November is testament to how well he is playing, but perhaps more importantly to the way the team are playing as many of his goals owe much too good old fashioned honest hard work and team play. That said we are very fortunate to have him in our ranks. It was hard in such a solid all-round show to pick out individuals, but Daniel Broom covered every blade of grass, and Brett ‘Dragon’ Sellick and Shaun Cox completed the sort of work load that sometimes goes un-noticed, but is vital for the team”

On Saturday Town face the first of a two-parter against Halwill, first up a Fresha Two meeting followed a week later by the pair going head to head in the Devon senior Cup.
