Honiton Town Reserves 2, East Budleigh Reserves 2 It’s a measure of the development this season of things at Honiton Town that a 2-2 draw is viewed by the boss as disappointing.

Town second string boss John Lewis said: “It was certainly below par in the first half and, whilst it got marginally better after the break there is no escaping the fact that we missed enough chances to win the game with something to spare!”

Charlie Lane and Marc Bowles scored the goals, and Dale Davison, Joe Knight and Andrew ‘fish’ Pike were the outstanding players.

Town first team boss Kev Blackwell said: “There is no doubt that there’s been significant improvement with the Reserves this term. Therefore, whilst it’s encouraging to see that people are not satisfied with a draw this time last year it would have been one of the type of games the team would have lost and they remain in the top two of their table. John Lewis is making great strides with the team and its great for us as a club to have such a vibrant reserve side pushing hard for places in the senior team at Mountbatten Park. Long may this continue.”
