Honiton Town teams suffer another weekend wipe out

Honiton Town face another blank matchday on the first Saturday of March as the snow has hit the South West Peninsula (SWPL) and Macron League programmes.
The entire SWPL Eastern Division programme has been lost and the Town first team are amongst that, losing their scheduled home game with title-chasing Newton Abbot Spurs to a snow-bound Mountbatten Park.
The same fate befell Town Reserves who were set to play at Woodbury and also the Hippos’ third team, who were die to play a Division Eight game at East Budleigh.
In terms of what remains of the Hippo’s SWPL campaign, they still have 11 games left and, from Saturday March 10, there will be nine more Saturday’s running to, and including, the first Saturday in May with the league currently set to be completed the following Monday (May 7).
The busiest of the Eastern Division teams over the closing weeks will be Torridgeside, who still have half their campaign to play – 16 games.

The least number of games remaining is the nine that both Sidmouth Town and Budleigh Salterton still have left in their respective campaigns.
It’s both the Honiton Town second and third teams who are set for very busy end of season campaigns!

The Hippos’ second team still have 16 matches to squeeze into the last nine weeks. To date they have only played 12 of their 28 game season.
They have played just four home games so far and so have to fit 10 home games and six away into the closing weeks of the campaign.
It’s a similar story for the Hippos’ third team, who have, to date, played only 10 of their 28 matches and so have a whopping 18 to fit in between now and early May. The third team have only played three at home so far and so have another 11 home games and seven away to squeeze in to what remains of the season.
