Honiton Town Under-12s were 2-0 winners when they entertained Tiverton-based Twyford Gladiators.

Despite having not played for some time, and with underfoot conditions slippery, Town made a bright start and, after a series of corners, a clearance fell to Jack Hawker who calmly steered the ball through a crowded goalmouth.

The goal gave the Town youngsters a clear lift and they began to play with confidence and it was no more than they deserved when Caleb Freemantle ran through before placing the ball beyond the goalkeeper to give Town a 2-0 half-time lead.

After the break there was action at both ends of the pitch, but no further goals. Much of that was down to the impressive Town defence of Laura-Beth Outram, Dan Loosemore and James Cairns.
