Honiton Town have been dealt a blow after the withdrawal of Galmpton and Roselands from the South West Peninsula League Eastern Division.

It means the Hippos will not now play on the opening Saturday of the new season for they were due to travel to South Devon to launch their campaign with a game at Galmpton.

It means that the Hippos will now start their new league term with a Wednesday August 15 trip to much fancied Elmore – the Horsdon Park outfit defeated Western league premier Division side Willand Rovers in a pre-season game last week.

Kev Blackwell and his Town side will the travel to Ilfracombe on Saturday, August 18, for their second game.

They play their opening home game on Wednesday, August 21, with the visit to Mountbatten Park of Budleigh Salterton.
