The Spring Bank Holiday competition started a very good week for Peter Clarke, writes John Pawley.
Firstly, he partnered his wife Heather to win the Treble Six competition at the club.
This is an annual mixed Stableford challenge where the men play off the yellow tees, and the ladies off the reds.
The first six holes are played as a better ball, with nine-tenths of the handicap. Holes seven to 12 are played as Greensomes, on half combined handicaps from the ladies card, and the last six holes are played as foursomes, off half the combined handicap, again off the ladies card.
