Honiton Tuesday mixed group members enjoyed the lovely autumnal weather last Tuesday with the course looking good and the greens performing well after their recent intensive tining, writes Liz Rogers.

Playing in teams of four – two ladies and two gents - the format was a stableford competition off full handicap with the best two scores to count on each hole.

The winning team were lady vice captain Jane Watts, husband Mike, the seniors captain, Andrea and Stan Squire with an excellent 89 points, a score helped by Stan chipping in on the 13th hole for four points. Second place with 79 points went to Jennifer and Richard Pyle, Rosemary Whiteley and John Frith.

Stan gave a vote of thanks to the catering and bar staff and to Stephani and Bob Barnes for organising the competition.
