There was a good turnout for the Tuesday Mixed this week with 32 players taking part in a Rye Foursomes, writes Ann Desmoulins.
This is a greensomes with a difference. Both partners tee off but, prior to play, they decide who will play the second shot on the odd numbered holes, the other partner playing the second shot on the even numbered holes.
Either drive can be chosen and play continues with the one ball with alternate shots. Winning with an excellent score of 40 points were Hilda Hoepelman and Mike Delaney. Second place, with 39 points, was taken on count-back by Susan Hyde and Max Pipe, with Linda Curtis and Brian Hoepelman in third place, also with 39 points. Fourth place went to Elizabeth Ward and Rob Sexton with 38 points.
