Last week’s Tuesday Mixed meeting was a mixed format, ‘four clubs and a putter’ greensomes, writes Ann Desmoulins.

The weather forecast was not promising, but nevertheless 20 brave souls set out. After 10 holes, with heavy rain and trollies blowing over, it was decided to call it a day and after everyone had completed the 10 holes we retreated to the clubhouse for lunch.

Surprisingly, the scores did not reflect the challenging conditions, nor the reduced club availability.

Taking first place with 23 points were Georgie and Roger Edwards, with Roger reflecting on the necessity for an expensive full set of clubs!

Second place went to Stephani Barnes and Phil Wall with 21 points, closely followed by Cathy Uttley and John Frith with 20 points.

Sadly the weather led to a course closure which meant no action for the ladies.
