Honiton Under-10s landed a win double in matches against the home club and West Hill on a frosty morning at Hemyock.

Honiton took on Hemyock first and bagged an early lead thanks to a Peter Osbourne goal. They doubled their lead when Will White was on hand to put a rebound into the back of the net. Isaac Lidster completed the scoring from a second half corner to seal a 3-0 win.

Next up the Honiton youngsters defeated West Hill 2-0 with Harvey Haysom giving them a first half lead. Before the break Lewis Clyburn doubled the advantage. After the break there was some outstanding team play by Honiton that enable them to see the game out.

Coach Dave Haysom said: “The commitment was outstanding with each player giving their all for the team. Defenders Jess Spence, Chris Lucas and Gary Daru all battled hard and won important tackles and Harvey Lee in goal was again reliable when called upon. Isaac Lidster, Harvey Haysom, Lewis Clyburn, Will White and Ashton Beck all worked hard throughout both games, driving the team forwards and working back to support the defence when needed. Player of the Day was awarded to Isaac Lidster for his massive contribution in both games, he reads the game so well and always seems to be in the right place to win important tackles, make clearances and drive the team forwards and also find the back of the net.”
