Harry Todd produced a Man of the Match performance for Honiton, but it wasn’t enough to stop his side slipping to a narrow 26-21 defeat to Exeter Saracens at Northcote Lane.

Todd scored a try in each half and turned in an outstanding display of running and tackling. Playing down the slope in the first half, he opened the scoring, which was successfully converted by Tom Young, but Saracens soon hit back with a try of their own.

Both teams put in some hard tackles which led to lots of turn over ball and from one such occasion hosts forward Shaun Monkhouse capitalised and dotted down for another score converted by Young.

Saracens used the slope to their advantage in the second half and edged in front with two more tries before Honiton fought back - sheer determination enabling Todd to claim his second score of the day. Young added the extras but the visitors hung on for victory.
