Honiton Under-16s were in fine form as they defeated Bridport 27-10 at Allhallows.

In what were ideal conditions for rugby, both sides gave a good account of themselves.

The first half was very much ‘even-steven’ with Honiton just edging it with the only try of the first half being a well-taken one, scored by Sam Heathcote with Ryan Woollacott slotting the conversion, sending the home side into the break with a 7-0 lead.

Playing with the slope advantage the Honiton lads turned the screw in the second half and with two early tries dotted down by Sam Olive and Kelsey Paulman the visitors heads dropped and from then on in it was one-way traffic for Honiton with Bridport on the back foot.

They did defend well, but with better fitness levels, Honiton scored twice more through a second Heathcote try and one from Sam Platten.
