Off we go into the Honiton Winter League Competition expecting biting frosts, 500yd drives across concrete fairways and impossible six-inch putts over tufted worm casts, writes Andy Wagner.

There was definite excitement in the air as the Sun Am Trophy got underway.

Game One, and as usual there were a mixed bag of results, but thankfully for some no singletons stealing the show.

Points were recorded but there is a whole season to make amends. Watch this space.
