Off we go into the Honiton Winter League Competition expecting biting frosts, 500yd drives across concrete fairways and impossible six-inch putts over tufted worm casts, writes Andy Wagner.
There was definite excitement in the air as the Sun Am Trophy got underway.
The Winter weather hadn’t descended, in fact it was mild and sunny and although half the greens were temporaries putting was very fair.
Game One, and as usual there were a mixed bag of results, but thankfully for some no singletons stealing the show.
Points were recorded but there is a whole season to make amends. Watch this space.
