Honiton youngster Phillips does well in DCGU U16 meeting

Two Honiton juniors are featuring highly in the latest standings from the Devon County Golf Union (DCGU) Under-14 Scratch Order of Merit, writes Liz Rogers.

Haydon McCance and Max Neild are both playing in great form, both being in the top half of the Junior Scratch Order of Merit.

Meanwhile, in the DCGU Under-16 Scratch Order of Merit, the in-form Ben Phillips is enjoying a fine season and recently saw his handicap cut to eight.

He recently played in a Boys’ Scratch Championship on the Saunton West course in which he not only attained fourth place in the U16’s, but also achieved an 11th place finish overall.
