Honiton Youth Under-12s went down 3-0 at Twyford Gladiators in their penultimate match of the season.

However, the score line did not do justice to what was a good all-round show by the Honiton team.

A hard pitch and keen wind made playing football difficult at times for both sides and when Honiton hit the post early on it was a sign that their luck may have been out in this particular contest!

Twyford scored the opener and took that single goal lead into the break.

The second period saw Honiton hit the woodwork on two further occasions and they also found the home keeper in fine form as he kept out several goal bound efforts.

Twyford duly added a brace, the pick of which was a well-struck free kick, to complete the scoring.

This Sunday (April 26), Honiton travel to North Tawton for the final game of what has been a topsy-turvy season.
