The Lyme Regis May stableford was a close run thing, writes Richard Jackman.

However, in the end Merv Knight won it well with 40 points followed closely by Mark Lewis and Gareth Williams with 39 and 38 points respectively.

After two holes-in-one the previous weekend Danny Hopkins made it a hat-trick by acing the third hole in a seniors’ match against Taunton and Pickeridge. Well done, Danny.

In the midweek stableford, youth won out, as junior captain George Seed took his handicap down to just one with a steady 40 points, to walk away with the competition from Jon Ebdon, 37 points and Stuart Wight 32 points

The ladies fun team competition was won by Rosie Jackman, Ronny Turner and Kathy Briggs with 32 2/3 aggregate points and second were Karen Nicholson, Kate Helm and Sue Fossett with 32 aggregate points.

Karen Nicholson also came second in the Dorset County high bronze Spring competition.
