Emma Hurst who won the Aegon Under-18 title


Emma Hurst won the Aegon U18s Winter Regional Tour Finals at Gosling Tennis Centre, Hertfordshire last week.

The Colyton Grammar student was up against players from Scotland, Kent, London and the Midlands in a national round robin Tour Finals.

Going into the competition unseeded, Hurst ended day one with two wins from her two matches.

A highlight was her defeat of the number two seed, Chloe Lant ( Berkshire) in a tight three set match.

After he win Hurst said: “I was really surprised to win my Sunday match against the higher rated and number one seed Sophia Thomas (Kent) 6-3 6-2. This then gave me confidence to go on and win the event.”
