Perfect golfing conditions greeted the 38 Seniors who participated in the December Medal, writes Janet Dack.

Eight players equalled or bettered par. The winner with an impressive 67 nett was Gerry Turner (11), now back to 10 handicap after this round. Two players returned nett 68s with second place on countback going to Chris Walker (13) and Clive Davie (19) having to settle for third spot. There were two 2s, from Rob Grove and Alan Vincent.

●The Seniors also played the Ladies in the annual Christmas Frolic - a 15 hole Greensome Stableford. 1, Bee Sammons and Tony Strong, 33 pts; 2, Liz Wheeldon and John Pugh, 32; 3, Barbara Cummings and Peter Knighting, 31 ; 4, Janet Dack and David Thomas.

● Another wildly windy Wednesday and round two of the ladies’ Winter League was competed for. The winner, for the second week running, was Glenda Board (17), second place to Di Rogers (30).

●The December Medal was played on Sunday last and the winner of Division One on count back was Richard Gibbons (8) with a nett 69, second place went to Alan Morgan (10) also with a nett 69. Third place yet again on count back was Paul Curtin (10) with also a nett 69. The winner of Division Two with a magnificent nett 65 was Geoff Greenslade (17). In second place David Morgan (19) with a nett 67 and third place to David Lacy (24) with a nett 68. Geoffs' handicap is now reduced to 16. Well played Geoff.
