Axminster golfer Sophie Keech has been adding more silverware to her growing collection.

Her latest success was to be part of the Millfield School team that competed in the finals of the HMC held at Rye Golf Club, East Sussex.

It is a very challenging course with long narrow fairways, quick greens and strong winds the majority of times and is known as the ‘home of foursome’ golf.

The team travelled looking to repeat their success at Burnham last year.

Initially played in group stages the Millfield ream won all three groups matches to a 3-0 score line playing some terrific golf.

Their group success left them playing Loretto in the final.

Sophie was in the second pairing and, after falling behind in then opening holes, stormed back to win two-and-one.

Sophie has now played in the last four HMC finals and is unbeaten in 16 games and all the Millfield Team have been part of Millfield either from MPS or Year 9 and 10.
