KEELEYS Angels, who collected the trophy for winning the summer league and were also runners up in the winter league, hope to continue their good team performance in the forthcoming 2009-10 netball season which starts next month, writes captain Wade Monaghan.

Their successful 2008-09 campaign was achieved despite losing one of their main shooters midway through the winter league when Sarah Hill returned to her homeland Australia.

But the team rallied and, with the other shooters available, Cara Monaghan, Denise Meyers and Kirsty Wackley, with centre court players Rachel Keeley, Tracy Moran and Helen Wright and defenders Karen Hodgin, Gill Pile and Louise Letheren, the team pulled together to beat the opposition in a very tough and exciting league.

A club spokeswoman said Keeley's Angels would like to thank their sponsor Mr Tim Keeley of Keeley Windows Ltd for supporting them throughout the season and the forthcoming season.
