Kenworthy and guests land Axe Cliff ladies’ invitation event

On a perfect day for golf the Ladies of Axe Cliff held their Invitation day with ladies from Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Hampshire and Surrey taking part, writes Janet Dack.

It was an interesting format, one home player with two guests

One score to count on the par threes, two scores on the par fours and all three scores to count on the par fives.

The winners were Helen Kenworthy and her guests Mona Carter and Ann Trayling from Honiton Golf Club with 79 points. Second place went to home player Pauline Willis with her guests Betty Willey and Sue Jackson from Crediton Golf Club with 78 points and in third place Margaret Kenchington from Axe Cliff with her guests Anne Jacobs and Anne Luetchford from Corhampton with 76 points.

Fourth place went to Barbara Cummings from Axe Cliff with Kay Foster from Woodbury Golf Club and Shirely Lenton from Stover.

Lady Captain’s day was a great success. Good weather, lovely prizes and an excellent lunch for all players; thank you Sandra.

The winners of the day were Barbara Cummings with Glenda Board.

Second place was claimed by Pauline Willis and Helen Kenworthy.
