It was Ironman weekend in the magnificent Swiss City of Zurich.
Taking part in her first overseas race was Kerri Ann Upham the N1 tri club 'Young athlete of the year' and Southhampton University student.
KerriAnn was in town to support fellow club member Nigel Down in his bid to become an 'Ironman' (report next week) but all friends and supporters eyes were on her on Saturday as she took on the Olympic distance race, 1500 metres of swimming a 40km bike ride and a 10km run.
There were around 1,000 competitors in the race with a top level professional contingent leading the way. Kerri Ann did herself proud coming home in 2:43:54, sixth place in her age group and 480th overall.
Back in the UK, the national building industry staged its annual event in Eton and Guy Paddon had a great day out finishing 185th out of 1,000 competitors.
