Millwey Rise seconds went down 5-0 in a pre-season friendly at Forton Rangers, writes Dick Sturch.

Unfortunately, what was to be a ‘double-header’ fixture, became just one after Forton called off the contest at first team level.

This was the first opportunity Rise had of putting the second team through their paces albeit with several regulars missing and they were really tested against a strong home team.

Forton went two goals up before the break and added three more in the second period to run out comfortable winners.

For Millwey Stuart King and Wayne Jenkins strove to keep Forton at bay while Terry Male between the sticks foiled several goal bound attempts.
