The Axe Cliff Seniors’ Section held their AGM last Friday and it was preceded by a 15 hole Stableford for the Quarterly Cup, writes Janet Dack.

The trophy was won in convincing style by Peter Knighting (16) with 33 points.

Two players scored 29 points with second place on countback going to Geoff Hughes (16), which left Bryan Dale (24) having to settle for third place.

Outgoing captain John White thanked everyone for attending the meeting and for their and others help through-out his year of captaincy.

During this year £750.00 was raised and shared between his two charities, Friends of Seaton Hospital and Medical Action Research.

The award for Senior Golfer of the Year went to retiring treasurer Bob Flay and the Player of the Year award went to the most senior member of the Section, Charles Whitbourn.

In-coming captain, Rob Grove the second time he has held this position, outlined his vision for the coming year and nominated the British Heart Foundation as his chosen charity.
