Lady Captain’s Day at Axe Cliff Golf Club saw the ladies face the challenging task of playing on their own course but using a scorecard from another course.

The ingenious idea posed by the lady captain, Barbara Cummings, proved enjoyable and thoroughly entertaining, with the winner’s score reflecting that it doesn’t matter where you play, if you are good enough, then you will score well. First prize was won by Helen Kenworthy, below, with an excellent 39 pts. In second place was Sandra Walker and third was Alison Cook. All the players were then invited to take lunch and drinks supplied by the Captain amid stories of what, ifs and maybes but overall, how much they had enjoyed the unique competition.
