Axminster Town continue to sit second in the Eastern Division of the South West Peninsula League after two second half goals saw them to a competent 2-0 home win over Appledore.
The first half fare was not the best the Tiger Way faithful have seen this term, but the Tigers stepped up a couple of gears after the break to thoroughly deserve this latest success.
From the restart the home side pressed and the pressure began to build prior to the impressive Oscar Latas netting from close range just after the hour mark.
The Tigers cause was helped significantly by the dismissal of a Fishermen player with 20 minutes left and five minutes after the sending off the points were sealed when Jonny Hurford sent Luke Finn clear and he made no mistake.
The Tigers are at Teignmouth this Saturday (October 29) after which they will have completed half of their league campaign.
