Honiton Town continued their pre-season preparations with an entertaining and dramatic victory over Beer Albion.
Honiton opened the scoring through a back-post header from Frank Rosenwald after a delicious cross by Tom Perryman but Beer fought back to level just before the hour, with Finley Rooke providing the pass for Taylor Rooke to convert.
The goals then started to flow and Honiton were leading 3-2 as the game reached the final minute.
An injury to their goalkeeper meant the Hippos had outfield player Lewis Couch between the sticks and he enjoyed a fabulous hero moment in the dying seconds, brilliantly saving a Beer penalty to confirm the Honiton victory.
The Hippos play their next friendly at Lyme Regis on Wednesday evening and then it is all about the Peninsula League curtain-raiser at Elmore on August 11.
Elsewhere at the club, Adam White has been named as the second-team manager for the Devon and Exeter League campaign.
