Honiton third team suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of fellow Fresha League Division Nine mid-table side Amory Green Rovers.
Harry Leisk scored the Town goal and there was also a most welcome appearance back in a Hippos shirt for Ben Welch.
Town third team boss Andrew Pike said: “The result is disappointing of course. However, against a strong side the effort levels were as high as always. Regardless of this defeat we have had a strong season this far, there’s no pressure on the lads to win the league so we will look to enjoy the last eight games and see what we can achieve. The young lads are coming on leaps and bounds and every set back like Saturday can only help them grow.”
On Saturday the third team host Divisional champions-elect Upottery Reserves who have won all seven of their league away games so far scoring 36 goals and conceding just eight!
