Lenton first for AVR at Dalwood 10k

The Dalwood 10K was run in warm and airless conditions, but it was a good race and with a curry at the end if you wanted for £1.50 which was fantastic value, writes Dave Mutter.

In hindsight it’s a pity the curry wasn’t at the start as jet propulsion may have helped the runners!

AVR’s Tim Lenton was the winner in 40.01 and Robin Carter second lady, 12th overall in 51 .14.

Ian Clements finished 17th, 52.31, Andy Sayers 32nd, 59.46, Alan Morbey 34th, 1.01.50 just seven seconds and one place ahead of his son Stephen.

The weather was wet, windy and wild for the Sticklepath fell race that goes up and along to Belstone and takes in Belstone tor, Oak tor, Steepeton tor and Cosdon Beacon before a long decent back to Sticklepath.

AVR’s Tim Lenton had his second victory of the week in this cracking race.

Robin Carter was the first lady with Robin Britton not far behind the other two.
