On Saturday afternoon three AVRs ran the Sticklepath fell race which is a tough, but lovely horseshoe route starting from the Finch Foundry in Sticklepath, writes Dave Mutter.

This run has a nasty hill start up and over to Belstone tor, along the ridge via Oak tor to Steeperton tor and around to Cosdon Beacon and finally a lovely long descent back to the starting point.

The weather was overcast and cool, perfect running conditions. Tim Lenton ran superbly to finish second in a time of 1:16:45.

Robin Carter loves this horseshoe and also had a great run finishing first female, 13th overall in 1:41:50.

Robin Britton was very pleased with his run and came 21st, 1:58:35. It was a lovely village fell race that was won by Andy Valance of Oakhampton RC in 1:15:19 and there were flapjacks and a bottle of cider to each runner at the finish line.
