ELEVEN anglers took part in the first LRSAC competition of the year at Seaton to catch as many different species as possible in four hours. All fished from the main beach 7pm-11pm. Fishing was hard, even with the favourable weather on the night. Only five anglers caught fish, which consisted of whiting, rockling and dogfish. 2008 overall shore champion, Darren Herbert found his form to take first place. Second place went to Malcolm Heaton and Mike Hansell took third. The next shore match will be held in Lyme Regis tonight, Feb 25, fishing from 5pm until 10pm for the heaviest bag of fish (only one of each species, and maximum of three fish).
