Lyme Ladies edge nail biting Interclub semi-final match

Lyme Regis ladies played the Interclub semi-final, against Came Down, writes Richard Jackman.

What a nail biting match this was! After six events Lyme Regis had won three matches, and just lost three, two to play-offs, one on the 22nd hole!

Tension increased as Cyndy Mudord drew her match, so off for a make or break sudden death. Hole 19 was halved and with the short par three second hole it could have been anyone’s game, but both missed the green.

Cyndy played first and chipped in, dealing the body blow punch to win and take Lyme Ladies through to the final against Parkstome at Knighton Heath. Well done to the whole team of Jane Southcombe, Anne Humphreys, Jane Dixon, Jenny Scott, Rosie Jackman, Caroline Baker and Cyndy Mudford, and good luck in the final.

In the men’s Langmore Shield, bogey competition, Richard Jackman came first on plus four with Julian Cox second, just beating Roy Mathisen on countback, both with scores of plus two.

Kathy Briggs won the Parnham Cup and LGU Brooch with a nett 74, and also Division Two. Di Smith won Division One with a nett 75.
