Archant

Last week was a quiet one in terms of league bowls at Lyme Regis, writes Paul Moffitt.

The only match played involved the A team.

I have no scorecards for this game against Bridport, but believe Lyme only managed two points from the encounter.

Last Saturday week saw the annual Frank Stone Charity Cup run against invited local clubs.

It was a Lyme team that ran out the winners by a plus 17 shot difference.

The team comprised Jo Barnish, Geoff Cozens, Naomi Benson and Brian Parsons.

In the two other friendlies Lyme failed to record a win, with a particularly disappointing result by the men against Bridport.

Results; Friendlies;

Lyme men 74, Bridport 105.

T Payne, D Read, B Parsons, E Skeemer 17-21; A Nabarro, A Brown, G Cozens, B Rattenbury 13-24;M Knight, J Owen, P Stephens, D Meylan 16-14; C Clissold, A Foster, J Moseley, J Beadsley 11-23; J Eaton, J Andrews, R Legg, R Edwards 17-23.
