Lyme Regis bowlers lose to Portland

Only the Lyme Regis South Dorset League team was in action in the past week, writes Paul Moffitt.

That was because the ladies had their game against Bridport postponed. The game that was played saw Lyme only manage two points from their meeting with Portland BO with Dave Wood’s rink being the only one to score.

In the only friendly played, against Sherborne, Lyme recorded a comfortable win with plus results on four of the five rinks contested.

Meanwhile, congratulations to Chris and Charlie Barber together with John Beadsley and Helen Dowling who have won their way into the county final of the mixed four’s.

Congratulations also to Lyme’s W2 team in the Percy Baker. They succeeded in overcoming Dorchester in the semi-final which was played in near monsoon conditions and will now meet Blandford in the final.
