It has not been a very good start to the new league season for Lyme Regis teams, writes Paul Moffitt.

Both men's teams lost 10-0 whilst the ladies did manage to salvage two points. The friendlies have been no better as, the club is still looking for it's first win.

The championship side went down at home to Branksome Park.

Early leads were quickly thrown away as, the visitors got to terms with our green which is probably the best green we've played on so far.

The first division team were away to Dorchester who, having just been relegated last season, proved too strong for Lyme although two rinks came close to a result.

The ladies fared slightly better at home to Broadstone Wessex with Helen Dowling's rink gaining a well deserved two points.

Elsewhere, the club still has only one friendly win. Either we are too friendly or the opposition aren't friendly enough!
