Lyme Regis Bowls Club opened it’s doors to a new season last Saturday, writes Peter Moffitt.
There were a good 50 members that turned out to support the official launch of a new outdoor season and all present enjoyed a fun afternoon.
The weather was kind, although the wind when the sun went in had a raw edge to it.
The proceedings were started off by a welcoming speech from club president, Philip Stephens, who welcomed the mayor, councillor Owen Lovell, and the deputy mayor, councillor Michaela Ellis.
It was mayor Lovell who had the honour of sending away the first wood of the new season.
