Lyme Regis golf latest - Lyon and Wight Scorcher

At the Lyme Regis captain’s drive there was a four-ball, better ball shotgun start, writes Richard Jackman.

Juniors David Lyon and Stuart Wight burned up the course with a scorching 46 points and this proved too hot for Paul Crisp and Jon Golding who just pipped new club captain Roger Seed and Adrian Morgan into second place both with 42 points.

In the Ladies Daily Mail Foursomes competition Caroline Baker and Hanna Jacobsen won with a nett 75 just half a point ahead of Elaine Colman and Linda Richmond from Jane Dixon and Rosie Jackman in third .

Jon Ebdon member of the winning Stoke Salver team capped a good year by getting his first a hole in one on the third hole.

The club bid farewell to Simon and Elaine Wicksteed who retired as club steward and stewardess, and thanked them for all their help and support over the last nine years..
