In the Lyme Regis January medal, big-hitting Richard Parfitt’s 10 pars and three birdies for a net 66 landed him the honours in Division One, writes Richard Jackman.

Second was Maurice De Pasquale with a creditable net 68 with club vice captain John Coley, third with a net 70.

Matt Rose had a steady round to win Division Two with a net 67 and Jeremy Linnert and Matthew Brotherton were both under par with net 69s, the former taking seconnd place.

Stuart Marples and Roy Bain were the trailblazers in Divisions One and Two of the seniors’ January stableford, each with a formidable 41 points. Stuart, a keen walking footballer, showed a clean pair of heels to Stuart Briggs and John Toates who came second and third on countback, with 39 points in Division One.

Division Two was closer as Roy’s margin of victory was by one point from Dave Dallas and two from Bob Shepherd in third
