Dominic Beardwood recovered on the back nine to win the low scoring Lyme Regis junior stableford with 30 points from Alfie Crisp and Ben Prosser, writes Richard Jackman.

The seniors’ Briggs Trophy, a bogey competition, attracted a relatively large field and it was frontrunner Bernie Styles, who scored plus two on both nines, who won with an overall score of plus four to take the title.

Mike List came a very creditable second on plus three, while Neil Thomas, with plus two, took third spot just ahead of several players that finished on plus one.

The ladies October medal, Division One, was won by Cyndy Mudford, who carded a nett 76 playing steadily within herself, without making any silly mistakes, while Felicity Poole and Jenny Scott finished in that order both on 77.

With the best score of the day, and the only sub par round, Susan Moore, who had a brilliant front nine to score a nett 72, won Division Two. Amy Mudford continued her run of form to finish second on 77 from Marilyn Wilson on 80.
