In the Lyme Regis March stableford, club juniors George Seed and Stuart Wight battled it out for first place in division one, writes Richard Jackman.

Both youngsters scored 39 points, but it was Seed who took the honours on count back to maintain his current winning run.

Steve Pielesz was third, just on the leading pair’s heels with 38 points. Division Two was more clear cut as Rob Crabbe’s well crafted 39 points beat Chris Vincent (37) and Mark Thirwell (36).

In the ladies medal, Jenny Scott with the best equal net score of the day, 74, won Division One from Jane Southcombe with 76 who had the best gross score. Division Two was even closer as Kathy Briggs’ 74 just beat Kim Beauchamp’s 75 while the ever present Ronnie Turner’s 79 won Division Three from Anita Holmes who had to settle for second place.

The seniors’ foursomes KO competition emerged from the damp (!) winter and was won by Brian Ridley and Brian Carnell who were made to scrap all the way by Tony Johnstone and Max Thorner.
