Craig McGown has been playing very well over the last few months and earned an exceptional scoring reduction, writes Richard Jackman.

His latest triumph came in the October medal competition where his nett 67 was built on two very competitively steady halves which included tw2 birdies, as he took gold in division One.

Tristan Wakeley’s excellent front nine in his nett 70 was good enough to come second, and another in-form player, Neal Cullen, came third with 71.

Division Two was close at the top as regular Neil Smith started with a birdie to go on and take first place just to edge out Graham Pickard, on countback, both with consistent scores of nett 71, while Harry Harris took third place with his nett 73. The ladies played a non-qualifying stableford and heading division one was Rosie Jackman with 36 points with Jean Jolley just a point behind on 35, with Cyndy Mudford taking third on 33.

Division Two saw four players all score 32 points, but countback meant, that Amy Mudford continued her season’s form by taking first place from Julie Duke, Kathy Briggs and Ros Clemmans.
