Lyme Regis pair win the Dorset County Golf Union Inter-Club Mixed Scratch foursomes

The men played their September medal and winning Division One with a net 67 was Jim Allan from Wayne Vincent, 68, and Peter Beviss 68, writes Richard Jackman.

Division Two was also close as Richard Edgehill with a net 66 pipped Alasdair Maclean, 67 who in turn beat Royston Davies 68

Lyme ladies played their medal on Thursday and in Division One, Judith Williams net 68 was good enough to see off Jane Andrews with 69 and Caroline Baker with 71. Division Two saw an outright winner - Barbara Porter with 68 from Beth Rowlands-Rees who beat Elizabeth Linnert on countback on 73.

Division Three was won by Marlotte Howard with a net 78 from Karen Nicholson, 80, and Judith Clarke, 84.

Also being played was the Parham Cup, won by Judith Williams and the LGU brooch won by Barbara Porter.

Melissa McMahon and David Lyon both capped a wonderful season by pairing up and winning the Dorset County Golf Union Inter-Club Mixed Scratch Foursomes at Bridport, a competition open to all Dorset Golf Clubs.
