Adrian Morgan romped home by four clear shots in the Lyme Regis September medal as he carded a brilliant one under gross on the back nine to finish with a nett 73 to take first place, writes Richard Jackman.

Shaun Vockins and George Seed were left to battle it out on nett 73 with Vockins taking silver on countback.

Jeremy Linnert appeared on the leaderboard for the second week running, this time taking the Division Two title as he played consistently to card a nett 71 and finish two clear shots ahead of Chris Brice and Bob Shepherd, who needed countback to settle the order, both finishing on nett 73.

In tricky conditions it was the cool steady play of Chris Turnbull who won the Veterans’ Trophy with two good halves of nett 34 in his 68, while Jim Rowlands- Rees just fell away a bit on the back nine but still finished one better than net par on 70. Jerry Garrett’s 71 secured third. Lyme ladies held their President’s day competition, a three-person Bowmaker which was well attended and convincingly won by Judith Page, Kathy Briggs and Sandra Barclay scoring an excellent 41 points.

It was also wonderful to see second place taken by the team of Emma Davies and two relative newcomers to golf, Sarah Kilcoyne and Judith Ellard, a result that promises much for the future.
