Lyme Regis men played their 3-ball better ball and it was good to see new names appear on the podium, writes Richard Jackman.

Shane Brown, Simon Doyle, and Justin McDonald took first place with 83 points from Roger Seed, George Seed and Stephen Buxton with 82 points.

The ladies played their Canadian Greensomes (where you can take the best of the first two shots per hole before playing alternate shots). Rhoda Elwick and Jean Falconer beat the rest scoring 42 points, second with 41 points were Jane Andrews and Emma Davies from Elizabeth Linnert and Wendy Cannings with 39 points.

Many club knock out competitions have been completed and full results will appear soon but surely one of the most encouraging things for the future was in the final of the scratch knock-out that saw two juniors compete for the prize. George Seed had to settle for second place as David Lyon capped an incredible year to take the trophy.
