The conditions for the second round of the 36-hole McClydemont Cup were in stark contrast to those the first round was played in, writes Andy Wagner.
The sun shone benignly on a course that was in ‘as good a nick’ as we had seen it this season.
This was reflected in the scores with both divisions producing some outstanding results.
What’s more quite a few players were still competing for the overall 36-hole trophy so the second round scores were crucial.
Alan Pollock took Division One with a nett 66, finishing ahead of club vice captain Ron Graham 68 and Richard Beard 69 finishing second and third respectively.
Division Two served up some stunning results with Tim Welch shooting a nett 63, Andy Wagner 65 and Andy Wall 69.
The final outcome was that Tim Welch with scores of 67 and 63 lifted the McClydemont Cup.
The runner-up was Andy Wagner (71, 65) and Alan Pollock (73, 66), took third place.
