AVR member David Cooke, in his final year in the 60-64 age group, came third in the M60 400m at the BMAF National Championships held in Birmingham, writes Dave Moffitt.

Running in the colours of Yeovil Olympiads AC, his time of 62:54 was a slight improvement on his performance in 2018.

David, who is currently ranked ninth in the UK over 400m, and that would read fifth if indoor performances are disregarded, also finished fifth in the final of the 200m, crossing the line in a time of 28:08.

The latest Seaton Parkrun was won by Chard RRC's Wayne Loveridge, crossing the line in 17:31.

Clayton Bannon of SHAEF Shifters took second spot in 19:45 and Paul Martin of Ware Joggers, was third in 19:48.

Gracie Gillingham was the first female in 20:48 followed by Stevie Potter of Chard RRC in 21:37 and Jo Davey of Honiton RC in 22:19.
